Customer Terms & Conditions

Effective date: 21/08/2026

1. About NicoByte Solutions

NicoByte Solutions provides IT support and technology services to individuals and small businesses, including computer support, device setup, Wi-Fi and networking assistance, and basic cybersecurity support.

2. Booking & Approval

Before work begins, NicoByte Solutions will explain the work required and, where practical, provide an estimated or fixed price.

By approving the work, the customer confirms that they understand and accept the proposed service and price.

Additional work that was not originally agreed may require further approval before it is carried out.

3. Payment

Payment is due when the agreed work has been completed unless another payment arrangement has been agreed in advance.

NicoByte Solutions may accept payment by bank transfer or other payment methods made available to the customer.

For larger jobs or business work, a deposit or payment in advance may be requested.

4. Customer Data & Backups

Customers are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of their important files and data.

NicoByte Solutions will take reasonable care when working with customer equipment and data, but cannot guarantee that data will never be lost, corrupted or damaged.

Where appropriate, customers may be advised to create or verify a backup before work begins.

NicoByte Solutions will not intentionally access, copy or disclose personal files or information unless this is necessary to provide the agreed service or the customer has given permission.

5. Passwords & Account Access

Customers may need to provide passwords, authentication codes or temporary access to enable certain services.

Customers remain responsible for their accounts and should change passwords after work has been completed where appropriate.

NicoByte Solutions will not knowingly retain customer passwords longer than reasonably necessary to provide the service.

6. Remote Support

Remote support will only be provided with the customer’s permission.

The customer may end a remote-support session at any time.

NicoByte Solutions will only access systems and information reasonably required to provide the agreed service.

If the agreed service is remote, there is security in place to protect the customer’s personal details, complying with UK GDPR requirements.

7. Customer Equipment

NicoByte Solutions will take reasonable care when handling customer equipment.

Customers should disclose any existing damage, faults or relevant issues before work begins.

NicoByte Solutions is not responsible for faults or failures that were already present or that arise because of pre-existing hardware conditions, manufacturer defects or equipment reaching the end of its useful life.

8. Third-Party Products & Services

NicoByte Solutions may recommend third-party software, hardware, internet services or other products where appropriate.

NicoByte Solutions is not responsible for failures, changes in pricing, service interruptions or other issues caused by third-party providers.

Customers remain responsible for purchasing any recommended third-party products unless otherwise agreed.

9. Cybersecurity Services

Basic cybersecurity services are intended to improve a customer’s general security and reduce common risks.

NicoByte Solutions does not guarantee that a system will be completely secure or immune from malware, hacking, data loss or other security incidents.

Advanced penetration testing, forensic investigations and specialist cybersecurity services are outside the scope of standard services unless separately agreed.

10. Cancellation

Customers may cancel a booking before work begins.

Where a customer cancels after a technician has travelled to the agreed location, a reasonable call-out charge may apply where this has been explained in advance.

11. Complaints

If a customer is unhappy with a service, they should contact NicoByte Solutions as soon as reasonably possible.

NicoByte Solutions will attempt to investigate and resolve genuine complaints fairly and promptly.

12. Limitation of Liability

NicoByte Solutions will take reasonable care when providing services.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.

Subject to applicable law, NicoByte Solutions will not be responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from a service.

13. Changes to These Terms

NicoByte Solutions may update these terms from time to time.

The version applicable to a customer’s service will normally be the version provided or made available when the service is agreed.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes will be subject to the courts of England and Wales, subject to any applicable consumer rights.
